Anambra State Halts Special PTA Levy in Schools - Anambra Ministry of Education

Governor Prof. Charles Soludo of Anambra State has taken a significant step by discontinuing the practice of collecting special PTA levies in schools across the state. The decision, revealed by Commissioner for Education Prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh during the 2nd annual general meeting with school Principals at Asubeb Hall, Awka, is a response to concerning reports about the utilization of these funds.

Addressing the Principals, Commissioner Udeh expressed that in light of unsettling reports regarding the special PTA fund, Governor Soludo has suspended its collection pending the outcome of a thorough investigation into the matter. She emphasized that certain heard in the corridors of learning.

Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh urged the Principals to uphold the values of their profession, emphasizing that dedication, commitment, and hard work are the true currencies for career advancement. She stressed that by remaining devoted to their duties and responsibilities, individuals can rightfully attain the rewards they deserve, without resorting to unethical practices.

Commissioner Chuma-Udeh also issued a stern warning to the Principals against engaging in actions that could tarnish the reputation of the teaching profession. She reaffirmed that teaching is a noble occupation entrusted with molding the moral compass and values of future generations. By upholding these principles, educators contribute to the betterment of society without compromising their integrity.
