Church-Govt Partnership Crucial to Anambra’s Education Transformation — Ogugua - Anambra Ministry of Education

The Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ekene Ogugua, has stressed the importance of sustained partnership between government and the Church in advancing education and driving meaningful transformation in the state.

Ogugua stated this during a courtesy visit to the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke, where he acknowledged the Church’s longstanding contributions to the development of education in Anambra.

The Commissioner said the partnership remained particularly important as the state pursues an education system that is responsive to the demands of a rapidly changing world and increasingly driven by technology and digital innovation.

He noted that achieving lasting progress in the sector would require the collective efforts of government and critical stakeholders, including faith-based organizations that have historically played a significant role in providing and supporting education.

According to him, strengthening the relationship between the Ministry and the Church would create greater opportunities to advance the administration’s vision for quality education and a technology-driven learning environment.

Ogugua used the occasion to appreciate the Archbishop for the warm reception and prayers, describing the visit as an opportunity to further deepen the relationship between the Church and the education sector.

He also expressed appreciation to the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the administration’s efforts to reposition education in the state.

The Commissioner restated his commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to support the ongoing transformation of the sector, noting that education remained central to the development and future of Anambra.
