Anambra Universal Basic Education Board in collaboration with Nduka Foundations has recognized primary schools in the state with awards for academic excellence.

Speaking at the occasion that took place at the Anambra Universal Basic Education Hall at Awka, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh commended the management of Nduka Foundation for the work they are doing in the educational sector,while stating that Mr Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo holds such foundation in high esteem.

“Mr Governor, the chief servant of the state, Prof Chukwuma Soludo holds education close to his heart and also people like you, partakers in the vineyard of God because education is the Lord’s vineyard. “We are here not because of the much salaries we are paid, we are here because we are serving God and humanity,and when people like you joins us in this service,it propels us to do more,she stated.

Earlier,in her welcome address,the Director Academic Services, ASUBEB, Lady Stella -Mars Ezepue, appreciated the foundation for taking up the task to educate our children,especially, the primary school sector through quiz competition and other endeavors. She stated,” class work alone does not determine the academic tone of a school until the school interacts with others academically through extra curricular activities such as this”.

She expressed the hope that the quiz competition continues annually since the children and teachers benefits from it greatly. In her remarks,the Founder and President of the foundation, Dr Chinwe Nduka stated that the foundation was borne out divine revelation and love for humanity. She also stated that foundation is targeting those children with the dream to pursue academic excellence and are looking for that little push and finance to birth such dreams.

Dr Nduka stated that the main focus of the foundation is primary school since it seems to be neglected as most organizations lean more on secondary and tertiary students. The highlight of the occasion was presentation of awards and gift items to pupils,teachers and schools.
